What if I need to withdraw or switch ages?

We know that schedules change, as do kids! You can make changes to your enrollment anytime of the year. If you need to make a switch, please send a message to littlesunshinemusicstudio@gmail.com! We will help you find the perfect fit!
If you need to take a break from classes, inform us in writing prior to the 20th of your last month. You can send us an email at littlesunshinemusicstudio@gmail.com to let us know. We will pause your enrollment and no further payments will occur. If it is past the 20th of the month, your enrollment will end at the conclusion of the following month. And when you are ready to start back up, just let us know!

When to switch classes for my child?

All children develop at different times, and you are the expert on your child. The ages are guidelines, not hard-and-fast rules. There is no hurry to move ahead and no harm in hanging back. And when you believe your child is ready to move to another age group, just let us know. We can give you guideline and signs to look for to know where is best for your child. If you are unsure, let us help you! We are here to help your child thrive!

How to use my unlimited membership?

First, you need to have already signed up for a regular weekly class: this is your “core” class, and your spot is reserved for each week.
To attend a class that is not your core class, you need click on “Classes” from the main page, then click on “Make Up”.

Next, select what upcoming class session or sessions you would like to attend in addition to your core class: Be sure to pick a class that matches your child’s age or to pick a mixed-ages class. Press the “Schedule” link.

After picking which session you would like to attend, fill out your information. Where it asks what class your student is missing, simply write “Unlimited”.

Classroom Policies and Procedures
During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don’t be discouraged – what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment
.rather than in a certain level of participation in class

You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the
.difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom
Entering Class
Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. Please though do not arrive much earlier than that as we may be wrapping up another class, or preparing materials. All classes begin promptly. Occasionally, being late is difficult to avoid – please enter the classroom as quietly as possible. If you find yourself more than 15 minutes late, please contact us to schedule a makeup class so class is not disrupted.
Participation
Remember that parent/caregiver participation is a key ingredient to success in any Kindermusik program. Your commitment to regular attendance and ongoing participation with your child during class will lead to more satisfaction, sense of accomplishment and enjoyment for your child and you!
Cell Phones
Please turn off or silence your cell phone before entering into the classroom.
Drinks and Snacks
Please leave juice and snacks in the car with the exception of those babies nursing or bottle feeding.
What to wear and bring
Kids (and parents) should wear comfortable clothes; we do a lot of movin’ and shakin’… We have a NO SHOES policy for parents and children, so please come prepared to go barefoot or wear socks. For the babies only, you are welcome to bring a blanket for your baby to lay on during floor activities.
Photo Consent
Little Sunshine Music understands a parent's possible concerns about their child being photographed, and takes its photo consent policy very seriously. At registration, each parent is able to state whether or not they consent to their child being photographed by Little Sunshine Music Studio during classes. There is no penalty for not consenting: your child and your comfort in our studio is our top priority.
Sickness
A good guideline to follow is to be fever free for 24 hours, and for a nose not to be running with anything other than clear. It is VERY common for babies and toddlers to have runny noses due to teething. It is VERY hard to distinguish that from being sick. If you at all feel that your baby is under the weather, remain home and schedule a makeup class.
Holidays and Weather
We follow the calander of Chesterfield County Public Schools for holiday breaks. This means we will not meet during:
Thanskgiving Break-Nov. 19-25
Winter Break-Dec. 24-30
Spring Break-Apr. 1-7
Any other dates will be announced in class and sent out in reminder emails.
Should we have bad weather(snow, ice, flooding, etc.) we will follow Chesterfield County Public Schools delay policy. If delayed 1 hour, we will have class 1 hour late. If delayed 2 hours or more, classes will be cancelled and you will follow our make up policy to account for that class.
Children with special needs
Music is a help in neurological, physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. We ask that parents talk with their teacher so that we may learn more about your child, and together we can make a decision about how to proceed or adapt in class.
Visitors
We welcome visitors to class and enjoy meeting extended family and friends. When possible, please let us know in advance so we can avoid overcrowding the classroom.
